Lasik Option Guide - Financing Your Lasik Surgery

                    What you want to know...........

-- Financing Your Lasik Surgery --

Few people can go in and write a check to cover the cost of lasik eye surgery. If you′re like most people, you will have to find a way to finance your lasik. There are several ways to do this.

Many people will simply put their procedure on a credit card. The majority of clinics accept them. If your credit card has a high interest rate, though, it′s a bad idea. There are other ways you can finance the surgery for less.

However, if you have a credit card with a low interest rate, you may have found a good way to fund your procedure. The thing that makes this method easy is that you can pay as little as the minimum payment or as much as the total balance on any given month. This gives you more choices.

Some employers offer a program by which you can pay for lasik (or other elective procedures) ahead of time. When you decide that you want the procedure, you find out when the enrolment time begins. At that time, you can request your employer to take an adequate amount of money out of your check each payday and put it into this fund.

Many clinics offer their own financing methods. You can be given a loan of sorts, set up on a payment plan. You can even help to choose the amount of the payments. That way they are affordable to you.

Payment plans can be set up for just a few months. However, if you prefer to stretch it out, you can pay for your lasik over several years. The payments will be somewhat less this way.

The finance company may require that a credit check be done before they will extend credit. They can sometimes ask for a deposit as well. However, that isn′t always the case.

Sometimes, the payment plans offered come with a 0% down payment option. If you don′t have to pay anything up front, it′s easier to begin the process without any delay. You will need to sign a few papers and commit to payments.

The interest may also be set at 0%, at least for a specified time. This gives you the opportunity to pay it off early without having to be responsible for the added cost of interest. Most clinics will have both programs-0% down and 0% interest. They want to make having lasik as affordable as possible for you.

Financing your lasik eye surgery shouldn′t be difficult for you. Most people can afford it if they want to have the procedure done. If you can′t pay for your surgery up front, there definitely are other options.
